The Grant MacEwan University Faculty Association is run by its members, pursuant to the Constitution. The membership has a number of opportunities to meet throughout the academic year, including:
- town halls in the fall and winter
- the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in late April/early May
- special assemblies as needed.
The membership are responsible for electing faculty members to various committees, each of which has terms of reference in the Constitution. The members must also approve the annual budget for the Association at the AGM
In addition to elections and the budget, faculty members may also approve policies that affect the membership. The most important of these is the Code of Professional Conduct, which both declares our professional values and guides our members as to appropriate professional behaviour.
Outside of these membership meetings, the day-to-day operations of the Association are handled by the Board and staff.
