The Grant MacEwan Faculty Association is run by its members, pursuant to the Constitution.  The full membership meets at least three times each academic year:

  • general assemblies in November and February
  • the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April

The membership are responsible for electing faculty members to various committees, each of which has terms of reference in the Constitution.  The members must also approve the annual budget for the Association at the AGM.

In addition to elections and the budget, faculty members may also approve policies that affect the membership.  The most important of these is the Code of Professional Conduct, which both declares our professional values and guides our members as to appropriate professional behaviour.

Outside of these membership meetings, the day-to-day operations of the Association are handled by the Executive Committee and Staff.  Executive committee members make regular reports to the membership.  These executive reports provide the members with updates on what is happening within each executive member’s portfolio, as well as on items of interest to the membership.
