ACIFA 2015 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

ACIFA will award up to two grants of $1,000 each annually for research projects related to improving teaching and learning conducted by members of ACIFA. The award process is launched each Fall and recipients are announced in January.

Applicants submit their proposal directly to ACIFA and applications are judged by a sub-committee of the ACIFA Professional Affairs Committee.

The award is funded by The Alberta Public Post-Secondary Education Trust Fund.

Purpose:

A Scholarship of Teaching and Learning research project involves talking a systematic look at some educational practice and recording what was done and why, collecting and analyzing data, and reflecting on how the results might influence teaching endeavors.

Research has the potential to generate genuine and sustained improvements in our college and institutes. It gives educators new opportunities to reflect on their teaching, to explore and test new approaches, and to share feedback with colleagues.

The deadline to apply is November 27, 2015 and applications can be sent directly to ACIFA at ben.turner@acifa.ca
